Srinivasa Reddy Kandi: Luma Enters Film Production with AI Studio, Partners with Faith-Based Wonder Project

Luma Enters Film Production with AI Studio, Partners with Faith-Based Wonder Project:

AI video generation company Luma AI has stepped into content creation by launching a new production venture called Innovative Dreams. This initiative is part of a collaboration with Wonder Project, a platform known for producing religious and values-driven films and series for Amazon Prime Video.

Their first project, “The Old Stories: Moses,” will feature Ben Kingsley in a leading role and is expected to premiere this spring on Prime Video.

According to Luma, Innovative Dreams brings together experienced filmmakers from director Jon Erwin’s team and Luma’s AI specialists. The goal is to help studios and creators execute complex storytelling ideas using advanced AI tools. These tools, known as Luma Agents, are designed to support the entire creative process—from text and visuals to video and audio—allowing teams to modify elements like sets, lighting, and props in real time, even while integrating live-action performances.
Luma emphasizes that this approach improves upon traditional filmmaking workflows, where many elements are finalized during post-production. Instead, AI enables more dynamic, real-time collaboration, potentially enhancing both efficiency and creative quality.

This move reflects a broader trend in the AI space. Startups like Higgsfield and Wonder Studios are also venturing into original content production. Meanwhile, Cristóbal Valenzuela of Runway recently suggested that studios could use AI to produce dozens of films at the cost of a single traditional production.

Luma CEO Amit Jain shares a similar vision, arguing that rising production costs in Hollywood have limited creative possibilities. He believes generative AI can streamline filmmaking without compromising quality.
The partnership aligns with Wonder Project’s mission. Founded in 2023 by Jon Erwin and former Netflix executive Kelly Hoogstraten, the studio focuses on delivering faith-centered stories to a global audience. Its debut series, House of David, premiered in 2025 on Prime Video.

It remains to be seen whether Innovative Dreams will concentrate solely on faith-based content or expand into other genres.
