Apple and Netflix Partner to Simulcast Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix:

Apple Inc. and Netflix have announced a joint partnership to co-broadcast the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix, marking a first for U.S. audiences. The collaboration was revealed by Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, Eddy Cue.

For the first time, fans in the United States will be able to watch the race live on both Apple TV and Netflix at the same time. Netflix subscribers will have access to the entire race weekend — including practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and the Grand Prix on May 24 — streamed directly on the platform.

The agreement also includes expanded promotion of Netflix’s popular Formula 1 docuseries, Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Season 8, which covers the 2025 Formula One World Championship and consists of eight episodes, will debut on February 27. For the first time, the new season will be available to Apple TV subscribers in the U.S., while remaining accessible to Netflix viewers worldwide, significantly increasing its reach.

Formula 1’s cultural momentum in the U.S. continues to grow beyond streaming. The sport has also gained Hollywood attention, with F1 earning a Best Picture nomination at this year’s Academy Awards. Meanwhile, “Drive to Survive” has played a major role in expanding the sport’s fan base through its behind-the-scenes storytelling approach, attracting millions of new viewers.

Apple has indicated that Formula 1 will feature prominently across its broader ecosystem, including Apple News, Apple Maps — highlighting race tracks worldwide — Apple Music, Apple Fitness+, and even in-store experiences at its retail locations.
