Srinivasa Reddy Kandi: Grubhub Permanently Drops Delivery and Service Fees on Orders Over $50

Grubhub Permanently Drops Delivery and Service Fees on Orders Over $50:

Grubhub is stepping up its competition with DoorDash and Uber Eats by announcing a major pricing change alongside its Super Bowl 2026 campaign. The company revealed that it will permanently eliminate delivery and service fees on restaurant orders totaling more than $50.

The announcement coincides with Grubhub’s new Super Bowl commercial featuring actor George Clooney. In the ad, set at an opulent dinner party, the host asks, “Who will eat the fees?” Clooney delivers the punchline: “Grubhub will eat the fees.”

According to the company, the decision is designed to help customers save more during economically challenging times. Grubhub estimates that delivery and service fees on orders above $50 typically average around $13 per order across most food delivery platforms.

Unlike its competitors, Grubhub’s offer is not a temporary promotion or tied to a subscription plan. DoorDash and Uber Eats generally waive fees only through limited-time deals or paid memberships such as DashPass and Uber One, and even then, the benefits often apply to select restaurants or come with additional conditions.

By making the fee waiver permanent, Grubhub aims to differentiate itself and attract more customers in the highly competitive food delivery market.
