Microsoft 365 Outage Disrupts Email, Files, and Teams for Enterprise Customers:

A widespread Microsoft outage is preventing enterprise customers from accessing core Microsoft 365 services, including email, files, meetings, and administrative tools.

In a post on X around 2:30 p.m. ET, Microsoft said the disruption was caused by an issue affecting a portion of its service infrastructure in North America that was “not processing traffic as expected.” While the company did not disclose the precise cause, it said teams are working to restore the affected infrastructure and return services to normal.

According to Microsoft’s service status page, the outage is impacting Exchange Online email, file searches within SharePoint Online and OneDrive, and several Microsoft Teams functions, including creating chats, scheduling meetings, and adding participants.

The disruption is also blocking administrators from accessing Microsoft Purview and Defender XDR security dashboards, as well as various admin centers.

Microsoft has not yet provided further comment on the scope or expected resolution time for the outage. We’ll reach out for additional details—as soon as our email, which is also hosted on Microsoft’s platform, is back online.
