Snapchat Launches ‘The Snappys’ to Honor Top Creators on the Platform:

Snap Inc. has announced its first-ever creator awards show, “The Snappys,” set to take place on March 21. The event aims to recognize and celebrate the creators who are influencing culture and building communities on Snapchat.

The awards will feature categories such as “Spotlight MVP,” “Best Storyteller,” and “Breakout Creator of the Year.” Additional honors will span a wide range of interests, including fashion, beauty, sports, music, food, gaming, collaboration, comedy, and cultural impact.

In a blog post, the company said the initiative highlights the diverse ways creators drive conversations and shape trends on the platform. “The Snappys” is positioned as part of Snapchat’s broader effort to recognize creators not just as content contributors, but as artists, entertainers, and cultural influencers.

Snapchat joins other social media platforms in formalizing creator recognition programs. Last year, Instagram, owned by Meta Platforms, introduced its “Ring” award to honor creators worldwide. The program recognized 25 winners, each receiving a custom-designed physical ring created by British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner, along with a digital golden ring displayed on their Instagram profiles.
